Join a discussion group centered on the book, Who Is Jesus? Answers to Your Questions about the Historical Jesus by John Dominic Crossan and Richard G. Watts. "This book makes the results of a lifetime of scholarship readily available to nonspecialists who want to meet the historical Jesus." Come join us for an intellectually stimulating conversion about the Historical Jesus.
- SEPTEMBER 21, 2008- 11:00 AM - CELEBRATING HUCC- On our anniversary we celebrate 19 years of HUCC being a unique voice in the community with a special worship service followed by a picnic, games and craft time. Friends new and old are invited. Wear your picnic clothes.
- OCTOBER 5, 2008- WORLD COMMUNION DAY
10:00 AM -An Introduction to Meditative Movement and Practice- today we take a break from our book group to learn some principles of meditative practice. The session, led by HUCC's own Jim McGowan, will help participants learn how to use meditative practices to enhance their spiritual life.
11:00 AM World Communion Service- HUCC joins with fellow Christians around the world in celebrating communion today. Celebrating the oneness of all God's children, the service will feature music, movement, words and communion bread from around the world.
- OCTOBER 19, 2008- 11:00 AM CHILDREN'S SABBATH- HUCC joins with congregations of many diverse faiths around the country who, this weekend, hold special worship services, education programs, and other activities to help people of faith learn more about problems facing children and poor families. Our service will celebrate children and bring awareness to challenges facing children in our country.
- OCTOBER 25, 2008 AT 6 PM - ANNUAL BONFIRE, CARNIVAL, AND TRUNK OR TREAT- Children of all ages are invited to dress in their favorite costume and join us to play games, roast hot dogs, and round out the evening with "trunk or treat".
